Rated 1 out of 5??by park Review continued
I submitted a review just a few days ago. Today I go to mow and find that a flimsy spring on the personal pace handle is broken. I go the shop and they have part. Trying to fix it I find there is no way to get old spring out or new spring in. I sits on steel rod between handles. No way to remove the rod. I go back to dealer - mechanic looks at it for a while says he has no clue, doesn't think it can be down without destroying mower. Says to leave it at shop. Ask how much - doesn't know, says it looks like a lot of work. Go home and get neighbor who is a lawnmower mechanic for Stihl and Husqvarna. He can't figure it out. Doesn't think it can be done. Will be writing to Toro president.

Rated 5 out of 5??by FunLovingJohn Excellent lawnmower my second Toro and better than the first
Selected based on Consumer Reports reviews. Had to replace my first Toro after over 15 years of dependable service. Selected a similar model (the one with auto start), but could not find in stock. So purchased this one and it works great.

Rated 1 out of 5??by park Bad bad engineering
Not adequate mulcher. The decktoo low, blade too close to sides. Unless cutting 1/4 in grass it will clog, need manual clearing. Cannot clear itself, it will keep laboring until you shut down turn over pull grass out. it will keep big lump inside. If cutting & stop it drops load. If walk mower 3 miles down concrete would not clear until you stop, then drop load of grass. bagger is joke. the angle allows only 1/2 full, then clog After 1 wk bag notch broke.1 months rear guard in shreds. 2 months spring on handle broke. Starting takes a gash out of your knuckle. Designed to require pull cord at outward angle. If not you catch a finger on the sharp plastic. It does always start on first or second pull when first starting a cold engine. After that, 6,7,8 pulls or maybe not. Sometimes it needs a 15 min break before starting. In shop 3x in less than yr. Entire top fell off-all three retaining bolts "vibrated" out. Mechanic said "happens all the time -try some loctite.

Rated 1 out of 5??by Breege Very poorly designed.
The lawn mower did not work properly when we bought it (new), and it took way too much time and too many trips to service shops for it to get fixed. Toro did pay for the repair, but could not compensate me for all my time off work and the gasoline I used to finally get a mower in the condition it should have been in at the time of purchase. The self-propel feature did not function. Apparently it was a problem for several series. Now self-propel feature works, but the lawn mower is a BEAR to start. And it is not just my family that thinks so. All the mechanical adults on our block have tried to help us, and they all say it is difficult and poorly designed. There is no valve to prime the motor, and the blade-release bar has to be held up against the sliding self-pacer bar. I honestly hate this mower, and I dread mowing because of it.

Rated 5 out of 5??by Ken63 covers all the bases; bags, mulches, side discharges; self propellled
too pretty to get dirty cutting grass! my gen 1 personal pace lasted 13 years...this new one is a better design all the way around and cost less than the one I bought in 2000.
