After wasting my money on the $180 lawn mowers that don't start right after 2 years, I decided to spend more money on my lawn mower. After borrowing my neighbors 10 year old toro lawn mower with the nice features and 1 pull to start it every time, I decided to go with this model and have not been disappointed! I have had it 2 years and starts after 1 pull(no priming needed). Also I would recommend spending the extra $50 to get the model where the engine keeps running but the blade stops when you release the handle. It is great to be able to pick up things or remove things without having to restart your lawn mower. Toro is the way to go for the price!

This lawnmower has replaced my old Toro which lasted 18 years. A tough act to follow.
My new mower has the "Easy Start" feature, and so far, it has started on the first pull every time. When it's idling, though, it sputters and sounds like it's going to stall. However, when you engage the blade, the engine runs really smooth, and it has a lot of power. I'm not sure why it sputters at idle, but it runs just fine when it counts. And for those who are curious, the gas I use is fresh.
The Select-A-Pace, works great. Basically a single speed transmission that moves the wheels faster, according to pressure on the engage handle. I've tried it while barely walking, and almost jogging, and it responds immediately.
And finally, it does a great job mowing the lawn. The cut is very clean and smooth. I've mulched and bagged, and the yard looks good either way. Personally, I mulch because it's cheap nitrogen fertilizer.
I think this is a winner for Toro.

Rated 1 out of 5??by ksmith8008 High expectations, low actual results.
This mower is very easy to use when it is running smoothly. Great walk behind performance and a really nice cut. My problems were that after running half hour or so, once the engine was stopped for 5-10 minutes, it was very hard to start again. Second, the belts that drove the walk behind motor burned up. Making it extremely difficult to mow the lawn. If you had a hilly area to cut it would be impossible. I have had the mower for less then 2 years.

Rated 1 out of 5??by Rikki It is a push mower.
It has not" PERSONAL Paced from day one. It as been a pushing ordeal since I bought it this May. It is in the shop at this moment getting repaired. It is not easy lugging a 80 lb machine around. Also my 3yr old TORO blower just broke. I had Toro products for 20 yrs. but not satisfied.

Easy start feature is amazing with no choke or priming. Grass catching feature has been redesigned and is very efficient. Very good mulching ability. Easy to use, makes mowing enjoyable again.

Great all-purpose mower. I bought this one to replace a five-year old mower of the identical model that my daughter ran over with her car. I feel like the old one would have kept on going 5 - 10 more years before meeting it's untimely end.
Easy to start, every time.

Every feature of this mower is great. It cuts perfectly and by far, the best feature is the blade stop. I gave this a poor dependability rating because I had to return my first one due to gas leaking from the carburetor. After I was done mowing, if I didn't drain the fuel, it would drain itself through the carburetor and saturate the air filter (ultimately settling on the deck). So far, the second has worked great though. Hopefully, it stays that way because I really like the mower.
