Rated 5 out of 5??by squigy Excellent snow thrower for home use
Even though this unit is a single stage snow thrower it performs very well! I have been able to remove wet heavy snow with little trouble. It starts with little effort and I have never had to use the electric starter once! It cleans down to the driveway surface also!

Rated 1 out of 5??by Darrel Looks aren't everything.......
Purchased this model because it has everything I wanted and was the same size engine as my last snowblower. Trouble is, IT WILL NOT START. Bought new unleaded, non-ethanol gasoline, filled crank case with new oil to fill mark on dip stick, turned key to 'run' position, primed engine, set the choke to 'on', grabbed starter rope, eased into it until tension was felt, and gave a quick steady pull, NOTHING!! Checked ALL settings, pulled starter rope again, NOTHING!! Checked again, pulled again, again NOTHING!! NOW taking it to service center, hopefully they honor the GTS warranty. If not, lawn ornament.

Rated 4 out of 5??by Sylvia Great Single-Stage Thrower
We purchased this thrower just prior to a long, snowy and VERY cold period this winter because our 30 year old two-stage finally died on us. I didn't need all the bells and whistles that come on the 2-stagers nowadays nor did I want to spend the money. After much researching, we settled on this one.
This machine is not the beast our old thrower was, but coming from that to a single, I'm still impressed. Sure, it won't munch through ice or a large pile the road plow has thrown into the edge of your drive, but it will clear an 8 car length drive way quickly! It doesn't take much to move so be prepared to walk fast when you pull the thrower lever. Very easy to maneuver because it's light, but that also works against it as it easily slides sideways in greasy snow/on icy surfaces.
The thrower includes a bottle of the oil it needs (takes most of the bottle). Premium gas is recommended for fuel as water separates from gas mix and settles in the bottom of the tank if it sits for a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5??by backfeelsbetter Save my hide (back)!!
This product was purchased as a immediate replacement for a 24 5HP model that broke the morning of a big storm this past winter. After going to three different Home Depot stores we found one still in stock. Not what I was planning on spending but glad I did.
This thing has save my back from countless hours of shoveling. More importantly it was easy enough to start. Something my wife has not been able to do with the bigger unit. Came home one day to a fresh cleaned driveway.

Rated 5 out of 5??by SteveK This snowblower is unbelievable!!
I can't believe that I went this long without a snowblower. After suffering through a lot of snow this winter in Chicago, I decided to go and get this Toro. I was lucky enough to get the last one at Home Depot. It was easy to get going right out of the box and always started on the first pull, or by just pushing a button. My son enjoyed using it just as much as I did. It throws the snow far and keeps up with the heavy stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5??by Chimp Excellent for light-moderate use
first or second pull start every time. It moves far more snow far more quickly than you would expect (I had similar experience with 2 cycle Toro single stage blower before, so I was not surprised).
2 cons: 1) you don't have a remote (meaning near the handle) control to turn the discharge chute - you have to move it manually by hand, which gets tiresome after an hour or so. 2) I have a sloping driveway and when going downhill, the machine wants to pull me much faster than I want to go - I have to hold it back which is tiring.
