Deck Offset

Z400 Series cutting decks are offset toward the trim side in order to provide trimming capabilities that are superior to those of comparable compact ZRTs. The trim side of the deck is also reinforced by a rugged 13mm x 38mm (1/2" x 1-1/2") steel wear guard.

Folding Rollover Protection System

A Rollover Protection System (ROPS), complete with seat belt, comes standard for operator protection in the case of accidental rollovers and tipovers. In situations where sufficient vertical clearance is not available, such as loading on an enclosed trailer, the ROPS can be temporarily unlocked and folded down.

Rugged Spindle Assembly

Rigorously tested to ensure that it can survive impacts that would destroy lesser spindles. The cast iron housing, with a massive 24cm (9-3/8") diametre base, absorbs impact loads and distributes them across a broader area of the robust deck shell.

Heavy Duty Air Cleaner

Deluxe 2-stage air cleaner protects engine from contaminants and prolongs product life. Standard on Z450 PRO Performance.

6mm Blades

6mm (1/4") thick precision blades resist flexing to provide a flat, crisp cut. High-strength, heat-treated alloy steel survives impacts and provides resistance to the rapid wear commonly associated with abrasive conditions.

Bull-Nose Bumper

7-gauge bull-nose bumper not only protects against frontal impacts, but also contains an integral underskirt to minimize blowout of debris and dust. The bottom, leading edge of the deck is raised 6mm (1/4"), allowing grass to stand more upright when entering the cutting chamber, ensuring a level cut. Leaf "plowing" during spring and fall clean-up is also significantly reduced.

Convenience and Comfort

Operator controls are conveniently grouped in a single location.
Large 41mm (1-5/8") diametre steering levers increase comfort and reduce fatigue.

Deck Construction

Constructed of high-strength 7-gauge steel (3447,5 Bar minimum yield strength), the deck shell is extremely resistant to impacts and abrasion. At a full 14cm (5-1/2") deep, the TURBO FORCE deck has more than enough capacity to handle the most demanding conditions.*

Rugged Frame

A commercial-grade carrier frame, constructed of 51mm x 51mm x 8mm (2" x 2" x 3/16") tubular steel, supports the cutting deck and stands up to the rigors of professional use.*

Patented Adjustable Baffle

Allows operator to achieve maximum cutting performance by fine-tuning deck to conquer changing conditions, at unique job sites or different times of the season. In extreme conditions, the baffle can be opened in order to conserve power and achieve faster mowing speeds. In less demanding conditions, the baffle can be closed to yield micro-sized particles and maximize discharge velocity.

Rubber Deflector

High performance 8mm (5/16") rubber discharge chute allows for close trimming without damaging chute or landscape structures. Patented design provides exceptional clipping dispersion.

Exclusive TURBO FORCE® Deck

High-capacity TURBO FORCE decks deliver unsurpassed strength, a superior cut, and increased productivity in extreme mowing conditions. Equipped with a patent-pending adjustable baffle, TURBO FORCE decks can be fine-tuned in order to conquer changing turf conditions. Available for the Z400 Series in a 132 cm (52") cutting width.

Deluxe Suspension Seat

Deluxe suspension seat improves operator comfort and reduces operator fatique when mowing for prolonged periods of time. Provides lumbar support and adjustable suspension, position, arm rests, and seat back angle.

Sun Shade

Constructed of a UV- and water-resistant polyester fabric, the sun shade enhances comfort by protecting operators from the sun's rays. For use on 2-post Roll Over Protection System (ROPS), the shade is designed to fold for transport without the use of tools. Available at participating stocking dealers.*

Z Stand Kit

Exclusive Toro Z Stand provides an on-board tool to simply elevate the front end of the machine and provide easy access to the underside of the deck, at the shop or in the field. Just swing the on-board Z-Stand jack out in front of the cutting deck, then drive forward until it locks into place.*

Optional Blades

In addition to the high sail blade which comes standard on Z Master® Z400 Series mowers, additional 6mm (1/4") blades are available to match regional and seasonal mowing conditions. Options include Recycler® and Atomic® mulching blades, medium sail Bahai blades, and low sail sand blades.

Deluxe Rider Cover

Toro's zero turn rider cover helps operators protect their mower - and their investment in it - by shielding the machine from the elements. The all-black cover is made from a 600 Denier polyester fabric that's waterproof as well as abrasion- and tear-resistant. Perfect as an overnight cover for mowers stored outside, it's also ideal for offering longer-term protection during winter storage. The vented design helps promote air movement around the mower to prevent build-up of harmful heat or moisture. The rider cover fits most styles of Z mowers.
