The internationally recognized ISO 14001 certification assures that recipient businesses fully consider the environmental impact of their practices. It requires evaluation of the site’s compliance status with all applicable environmental regulations. If the site is not in compliance, a corrective action plan is required to achieve compliance before the registration is granted. A matrix of environmental risk is created and reviewed annually to identify continuous improvement projects for the location. These projects are monitored with milestones and deadlines. Any training or documentation needed to maintain compliance and continuous improvement is delivered, and careful records must be kept.
