The Toro DD4050 provides the optimal ratio of thrust/pullback and torque performance to footprint – with a width of only 85”, consistent 40,000 lb of thrust and pullback, and 5,000 ft-lb of rotation torque. Additionally, the newly designed drill operating system, TDOS-1, delivers single-screen drill performance information and intuitive navigation to enhance operator productivity.
Equipped standard with 52 pieces of 10’ Hunting HIWS2 one-piece forged pipe for durability in a variety of conditions.
Heavy-duty vice wrenches are open and angled, providing excellent visibility of the tool joint to allow for faster connections and breakouts.
The two-speed floating carriage moves at 150 ft/min (46 m/min) to decrease cycle time when adding and removing pipe.
Provides clear, easy-to-read information on drill operation and performance.
Low profile stake down guard allows for easy access for clean-up and maintenance, while also providing clear sight lines to the entry pit.
Forward-mounted track drive motors with planetary gear reduction provide superior traction in all types of ground conditions.
Dual rear stabilizers provide added versatility for set-up in uneven conditions.
Cummins® QSB4.5 turbocharged diesel engine with 160 hp (119 kW) provides hassle-free operation and delivers 40,000 lbs (18 tonnes) of consistent thrust and pullback and 5,000 ft-lbs (6,101 Nm) of torque.
On-board, infinitely variable drilling fluid pump allows the operator to control mud flow for a variety of bores – up to 70 gpm (265 L/min) for larger diameter bores.
Optional air hammer is easily integrated for hard rock drilling applications. Operator can control all hard-rock hammer functions and monitor performance from the integrated LCD display.
Standard exit side lock-out and Zap Alert™ systems enhance crew safety from start to finish.
Quad pinion and dual sided welded rack design spreads carriage load evenly to deliver smooth and stable movement and long-lasting durability.
Optional enclosed operator cab with climate control and excellent visibility keeps the operator comfortable no matter what the weather may bring.
The Toro FM330 drilling fluid mixing system uses a circulating pump that allows up to 330 gmp (113 l/m) of drilling fluid to pass through the Dual Shear Mixer for fast, efficient, and consistent fluid delivery. FM 330 components are compact and modular to allow for maximum flexibility for transportation and on the job site.
