Winter is one of our favorite seasons! Here are a few tips to keep in mind when throwing snow:
- Few things are more fun for the kiddos than playing in snow, but please do not allow children to operate a snow thrower or be in the area when an adult is throwing snow.
- Halloween is a great time to fire up the snowthrower and check that all the guards are in place before the first snowfall.
- Hands free; don’t use your hands to clear clogs. Use a clean out tool instead.
- Also, it’s just as important to not to put your hands or feet near moving components while operating the unit.
- Play it safe and shut it off; please shut the snowthrower off before unclogging or refueling.
- Watch where you’re throwing; keep kids, bystanders, Yeti, really anyone, away from the discharge opening and out of the path of thrown snow.
- Dress for success; find the right clothes for your weather and avoid loose fitting clothing.
- These boots are made for…; footwear with good traction will help keep you upright.
- Check your snow before throwing it; hidden objects can get caught in your machine or get thrown.
- Be fuel safe; tipping your snowthrower all the way forward may cause it to leak fuel.
